Abigail Woodman, an experienced local green spaces campaigner, has been selected to represent the Green Party in the upcoming by-election in Higham Hill Ward.
Abigail is currently chair of East London Waterworks Park; an idea conceived by local people to transform the Thames Water Depot on Lea Bridge Road into a brownfield rainforest offering people the opportunity to immerse themselves in nature.
Abigail says. ‘’I am delighted to have been selected to represent the Green Party in Higham Hill ward. I have lived in Walthamstow since 2001 and in Higham Hill since 2014, and I have seen how pressure on our environment has increased over this time. I opposed the new incinerator at Edmonton and have spent many years campaigning to keep the marshes free from development, so I would relish the opportunity to challenge Waltham Forest to do more to tackle the climate crisis. We face many and varied issues in Higham Hill, and by listening, working together, and tapping into Council support, I think we can make a real difference.’’
Abigail is an experienced educational publisher and a long-time campaigner on green issues.
