Bill Measure

It is with incredible sadness that we must announce the passing of local member, Bill Measure, on Friday 6th November 2015.

Bill was a mainstay of the local party from the early days (election agent, treasurer, newsletter editor) with a great commitment to his local community. He was a well known and much loved figure around Leytonstone.

Bill was founder in 2005 of the Leyton and Leytonstone Historical Society and its chair until May 2015.

His love for local club, Leyton Orient FC made national news. A wonderful photo of Bill and his wife Maureen captured the moment they went hand in hand as they "invaded" the pitch following their play-off semi final victory over Peterborough in 2014.

Waltham Forest and Redbridge Green Party Member, Steve Lambert, added: "Bill was a good source of amusing stories and the absurdities of life. He leaves a big hole in our lives."

Thoughts and condolences to wife Maureen, and the rest of his family and friends. He will be missed by many.
