Many people locally are feeling both stunned at continuing news of atrocities in Syria, and confused at conflicting opinions and stories. The inability of our governments and international organisations to have any impact on the crisis seems equally frustrating.
*Hear personal stories from Syrians living locally, about their life in Syria, their experiences here and their perspectives on the crisis. Learn ways in which we in the UK can help, both at home and abroad.*
Contributors will include: Syrian translator Nizar Taha Hajj Ahmad, Citizens UK Refugees Welcome project and Andrew Sharp, fundrasing for educators in refugee camps. More to be added.
Our regular discussion meetings are aimed at engaging with complex issues and understanding what steps we can take.
This is a complex issue with many sides. Engaging in difficult and complicated politics is integral to our work as part of the Green Party, and we look forward to making time to do this with you.
This is a free event. Please book online so that we know numbers for refreshments.
