As a candidate for the London Assembly in an outer borough, I welcome a fairer system of road-pricing in return for cheaper fares and more buses as outlined by Green Party mayoral candidate Sian Berry (January 5).
My commute to work in Docklands starts with a bus ride to Gants Hill tube which ought to take five minutes but usually takes three times that because of the traffic. Road pricing for motorists would reduce that congestion and if the revenue made my journey cheaper, that’s better still. I predict this is going to be a popular policy.
